Australia Heat Persisting, Wheat Declining

Intense drought and extreme heat worsens the outlook for the Australian 2012-13 wheat harvest.

Intense heat is persisting in Australia following an intensely hot December.   Maximum temperatures January 7 reached 112-114 degrees in southwest New South Wales and South Australia.  Victoria temperatures topped out at 111 F.    In Western Australia,  temperatures were significantly “cooler” with temperatures 95 F to 104 F... subscribers continue to full story...
