Deep Snowpack Persists in Russia Volga, Spring Planting Delays Feared

Spring grain planting delays are likely in Russia  from a deep snowpack persisting in the Volga.

Temperatures moderated last week in European Russia compacting a heavy snowpack in the Black Earth and Volga districts.    There is still one foot of snow, or more, in the southern Volga, a key  spring wheat and barley growing area, where fieldwork is due to start in less than a month... subscribers continue to full story...
