The Canadian prairies experienced a hard freeze overnight. Temperatures fell to 23 F (-5 C) in Saskatchewan and western Alberta. This may be trouble for spring wheat, barley and canola where crops were not entirely mature. More advanced maturity in Manitoba crops suggests only slight damage, if any.
