A spring drought topped off by an intense heat wave may have damaged Australia wheat yields more than expected.
The USDA kept 22 million metric tons for the Australia wheat production estimate in the January World Agricultural Supply-Demand Estimates (WASDE) report, but reduced exports 500,000 tons to 16.5 million metric tons.
