Sharp Contrast in Weather Argentina vs South Brazil

Argentina weather has been rather cool and wet, as opposed to heat and dryness over much of Brazil's vast farmland.  Neither condition is favorable for spring planting and crop development in October.

Weather in southern Argentina has been predominantly cold and dry to start the month of October.  Growers are happy with less rainfall following flooding in September, but warmer temperatures are needed to spur corn planting.  Night temperatures have been in the 30s- low 40s F in La Pampa and southern Buenos Aires.   Corn seeds will not germinate below 50 F.
