Troubles for Winter Grains in Russia and Ukraine

Russia winter grain plantings may be reduced for the second year in a row, this time, not from drought but rather too-wet conditions.  SovEcon the Moscow consultancy claimed winter grain plantings reached only 14.996 million hectares by late October,  compared to a target of 17.5 million hectares.    

Last year,  drought shrank  winter grain plantings to 13.559 million hectares.   The new crop area would be 10% higher than last  season but not up to normal... subscribers continue to full story...
