Drought in Hard Red Winter Wheat, Corn Harvesting Delays

Drought has not been cured in hard red winter wheat.   Low topsoil moisture was reported October 16 in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas,  despite heavy rainfall previously, 2 inches on average.  The heavy rain apparently got soaked up by thirsty fields, not improving field moisture very much.

As of October 16 wheat sprouted and emerged was  56% in Kansas, but only 32% in Oklahoma and 19% in Texas,  where dryness was most severe...subscribers continue to full story...
