Heat Dome To Dominate US Heartland This Week

The weather forecast remains very threatening for United States corn and soybeans,  as a heat dome builds strength in the Central United States.  


Week Beginning Hot in the Midwest 

Temperatures today and tomorrow are predicted near 100 F (37.8 C) in the Midwest corn and soybean belt, but sharp cooling is predicted Wednesday and Thursday when the jet stream carves out a trough in the Great Lakes – Eastern Midwest.   Already at 10:15 Central time,  90s F were popping up in the corn and soybean belt.  Fields are so dry it does not take long for the surface to heat up in the hot summer sun.
